High Speed Chargers
Charges both AA and AAA Ni-MH or Ni-Cad rechargeable batteries.
Batteries must be charged in pairs and must be the same size.
110-240 VAC/12VDC w/4 AA 2000 mAh NiMH batteries. |
 |
Universal
NiMH & NiCad AC Charger
This charger will charge two or four AA, AAA, C, D, and 9 volt
NiMH or NiCad batteries in approximately 5 hours. It is important to
note that different battery sizes cannot be mixed while charging and all
battery types must be charged in pairs. |
The advantages of NiMH batteries compared to other
battery chemistries include the following:
-
NiMH batteries provide
significantly longer run time compared to NiCad batteries
-
In some devices, like many digital cameras, NiMH
batteries also provide significantly longer run time compared to
alkaline batteries. In other devices, depending on the voltage cut-off
of the device, NiMH batteries may not offer longer run time than
alkaline batteries.
-
NiMH batteries are environmentally friendly and do not
contain lead, mercury, or cadmium as other battery types do.
-
NiMH batteries do not have a "memory effect"
like some other battery types. NiMH batteries can be charged any time
and do not have to be fully discharged prior to charging like NiCad
batteries do.
-
NiMH batteries do experience some level of
self-discharge when not in use. Generally, if the NiMH battery has not
been charged or used for more than 1-2 weeks, it is best to fully
charge the batteries to get maximum run time out of them.
1. What is the capacity
rating of NiMH batteries?
The capacity rating for the AA size is currently 1800 to 2300 mAh and the capacity
rating for the new AAA size is 700 to 850 mAh. These capacities are subject to
change in the future. Please look at the models for current available
capacity.
2. What is the voltage of
each of the batteries?
The voltage of all NiMH batteries is 1.2 volts per cell.
3. Where are the batteries
manufactured?
The 9 Volt, AA and AAA size batteries are currently manufactured in Japan
or China. All products are inspected and packaged in the U.S.
4. Where are the chargers for the NiMH batteries manufactured?
Both the ac/dc charger and the wall charger are manufactured
in China.
5. What is the typical charge
time for NiMH batteries in the ac/dc chargers?
We offer many chargers for use with the NiMH rechargeable batteries. Some
will charge 9 Volt batteries, other will not, please review the
specifications of each charger to see what technologies they will charge.
The wall
charger can be used for 9 Volt, AA and AAA size batteries. All NiMH batteries experience some level of self-discharge when not in
use.
